Venus Games & Electronics is a trusted name in the gaming industry with over 18 years of experience. Known for offering a wide range of high-quality gaming products, they’ve become the go-to destination for enthusiasts in Bangalore. With the launch of their online store, Venus Games is now bringing their expertise and curated collection to customers across India.
The goal of the project was to craft a distinctive brand identity and design an e-commerce website for Venus Games as they expanded from a strong offline presence to the digital space. They wanted a visual identity that would stand out in the competitive gaming market—something bold, unique, and memorable. With a catalog of over 500 products, the website needed to be easy to navigate while reflecting the new branding. The focus was on creating a simple, intuitive user interface that brought the pixel-inspired visual style to life and ensured a seamless shopping experience.

Challenges

The main challenge was to create a brand identity that felt both nostalgic and fresh reflecting brand’s legacy as a long-standing player in the industry while appealing to a modern audience. On the e-commerce front, we had to catalog and structure over 500 products, ensure accurate product imagery, and design custom banners for each product section. Understanding Shopify's capabilities and integrating all client-requested features—while maintaining a clean, user-friendly UI aligned with the new branding—was a critical part of the process.

Ideation

We began by analyzing the visual language of existing competitors and noticed a recurring theme—most brands leaned heavily into dark palettes, typically black and green, paired with a tech-heavy design aesthetic. While effective, this approach felt overly saturated and lacked individuality.
To break away from that mold, we envisioned a brand that was colorful, quirky, and more in tune with the language and spirit of today’s gaming generation. The idea was to create an identity that was not just visually distinct but also emotionally engaging—something that felt approachable, fun, and deeply memorable. This direction influenced everything from the brand colors and pixel-art elements to the tone of communication and UI design decisions.

This logo is a dynamic fusion of nostalgia and modern vibrancy, designed to resonate with today's youth. Drawing inspiration from classic pixel art, the logo captures the essence of retro gaming while presenting it in a fresh, contemporary style. This approach not only sets Venus Games apart from competitors but also taps into the growing trend of vintage gaming aesthetics, creating an instant connection with both seasoned gamers and new enthusiasts. The logo unit itself is designed to be more than just a visual identifier; it’s an interactive experience. By resembling an actual game, it invites users to engage with the brand on a deeper level. This design approach positions Venus Games as not just another gaming company, but as a brand that understands and celebrates the gaming culture.

Website

We began by auditing the existing website to identify key UX issues and areas of improvement. This was followed by multiple discussions with stakeholders to understand their business goals and uncover opportunities for additional features that could enhance both usability and conversion.

A key focus was also on redefining the content strategy shifting the language to better align with the new visual identity and tone of voice we envisioned for the brand. One of the most time-intensive aspects of the project was documenting and organizing over 500 products, ensuring consistency in naming, imagery, and categorization to support a smooth e-commerce experience.

Impact

The redesigned identity and website were met with enthusiastic feedback from the client, who praised the site’s standout look and intuitive functionality. Post-launch, users noted how the micro-interactions and quirky visuals made browsing more enjoyable. The new branding proved especially memorable, setting Venus Game apart from competitors who typically leaned into darker, tech-heavy aesthetics. The client also reported increased engagement and better product visibility across categories.
